Syria, the SDF offensive in the MERV reaches the desert of Rawdah

The SDF offensive against Isis in the Middle Euprates Valley (MERV) at Deir Ezzor reaches the desert of Rawdah. Their objective is to create two separate and isolated areas, to close Daesh

The offensive of the SDF against Isis in the Middle Euprates Valley (MERV) at Deir Ezzor reaches the desert of Rawdah. The forces of Operation Round Up are advancing against the Islamic State in the area and are conquering several villages. The objective is to reach the border between Syria and Iraq, as soon as possible, in order to divide the pocket of resistance of Daesh into two distinct, separate and isolated entities. Up to now many soldiers have been killed, and weapons and equipment confiscated (many communication devices). In the maneuvers also the ISF of Baghdad participate, patrolling the other side of the border to prevent escapes or attempts of infiltration of jihadists and attacking their defensive positions with the artillery. The International Coalition, on the other hand, provides close air support (CAS) to the Arab-Kurdish troops and monitors the area from the sky. On the northern part of the operation instead they are fighting at Sawh Al-Buwafru.

The Syrian army (SAA) launches a ground attack against the Islamic State west of Daraa. First step: take Tasil and then move southwards

Further west, the Syrian army (SAA) has started the ground offensive against Isis west of Daraa. The soldiers, that are pointing to attack Daesh at Tasil as soon as possible, have already chased the militiamen out from Tell Al-Bahsa, Tell Ashtara and Khirbat Al-Tira. Moreover, they are keeping the city under constant pressing with continuous bombings, so that the jihadists are unable to organize their defenses. These are pushed more and more to the south towards the border with Jordan and Israel. As a consequence, Hayt (Heet) has now become the new stronghold of the Islamic State. Meanwhile, the jewish Country is reinforcing its defenses, mainly on the Heights of Golan where there is a state of maximum alert. Nobody wants to risk attacks, infiltrations or that somebody sends drones to spy over the national territory, as has happened also recently. To the extent that Israeli air fighters have had to intervene in Syria against Iranian bases in response to such episodes.
