The SDF most probably will attack Isis at Hajin after the end of Eid al-Adha. Objective: to limit the risk of victims among civilians in the battle against the Islamic State at Deir Ezzor
The SDF ground offensive against Isis at Hajin will probably begin after the end of Eid al-Adha, on the 25th August. The celebrations in fact are celebrated everywhere in the province of Deir Ezzor, even in the south where the Operation Round Up (Jazeera Storm) is getting ready to fight a violent battle against the Islamic State. The Arab-Kurdish forces want to wait for the local people to celebrate in peace before launching an attack against the Daesh militiamen. This mainly to limit the risk of collateral damage, namely victims among Syrian civilians. The maneuvers, however, have been finalized and are ready to start. The necessary reinforcements and supplies have arrived, and the mechanism of humanitarian corridors has also been completed. Thanks to this the inhabitants will be able to be evacuated safely and at the same time will be carefully screened to detect any infiltration of militiamen fleeing.
The Syrian army (SAA) continues pressing Daesh at Suweida. Meanwhile, Isis is trying to extend the territory they control in the Badia desert
In the meantime, the Syrian army (SAA) is continuing to advance slowly against Isis at Suweida in the area of Al-Safa. While the soldiers are fighting against the Islamic State in the mountains, the jihadists are still trying to reach an agreement with Damascus. The agreement includes the liberation of the druse hostages kidnapped on 25 July, in exchange of a safe conduct and passage towards the desert of Badia. Here there are other Daesh groups, which are trying to expand the controlled territory. Both in the south, to reach the border with Iraq, and in the north. As a matter of fact the jihadists have a few hours ago launched two big attacks against the Iranian militiamen near Wadi AlNaqeeb in Sukhnah. The first one at dawn and the second in the afternoon. It also seems, although it has not been officially confirmed, that 3 pro-regime fighters were captured, among which also from Tehran.
