Syria: the SDF at Deir Ezzor chase again Isis from the north of Hajin

The SDF have completely taken over the territories conquered by Isis in the last days north of Hajin. In addition, the Islamic State since August has lost 739 jihadists, almost twice as the victims among the Arab-Turkish forces

The SDF in Deir Ezzor have completely taken over the territories conquered by Isis in recent days. Above all to the north of Hajin. Operation Round Up (Jazeera Storm) troops launched a mass offensive, forcing Islamic State jihadists to fall back on pre-attack positions and now resume the siege of the stronghold. This, however, after having lost a lot of elements. These are added to the many other members of Daesh who in recent months have lost their lives against the Arab-Turkish forces. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) estimates that 739 jihadists died in the governorate from August to today. This against losses equal to almost half (452 units) among SDF fighters, since Jazeera Storm restarted in the Middle Euphrates River Valley (MERV). Meanwhile, IS in Baghuz have lost another high level commander: Abdel Rahman Khaled Fahad al-Dandal.

Daesh will soon have 2 new problems in the Syrian province. Jazeera Storm is receiving reinforcements and the weather conditions in the area will be stable. So, the jihadists will no longer be able to exploit them to launch surprise attacks

In addition, Isis at Deir Ezzor will have two major problems against the SDF in the near future. First of all, Syrian fighters are receiving new reinforcements and supplies. This will improve their offensive and resistance capabilities. In addition, the weather conditions in the province provide – except for Friday – cloudy weather. As a result, there will be no atmospheric phenomenon that can give help or cover to the Islamic State, such as previous sandstorms or fog. Therefore, Daesh jihadists will no longer be able to make surprise attacks unless they decide to take the risk of being detected immediately and destroyed by the International Coalition’s assets. Moreover, it will be even more difficult to get reinforcements from the west, as the Syrian army (SAA) has raised its guard and strengthened the defenses, in anticipation of the imminent operation against the militia in the Badia desert.
