The International Coalition is hammering Isis throughout the area east of the Euphrates by Deir Ezzor. The SDF of Jazeera Storm, on the other hand, head north to Rojava to counter Turkey’s attacks
The International Coalition is hammering down the Isis posts to Deir Ezzor. In the last hours there have been numerous air raids by Inherent Resolve against the Islamic State throughout the area east of the Euphrates in the Syrian province. The strikes occurred from Hajin to Baghuz. At the same time, some SDF units have been deployed in the area to contain Daesh and prevent jihadists from extending controlled territory. The goal is to keep the militia closed, until it resumes SDFâs Operation Round Up (Jazeera Storm). This was temporarily frozen, following Turkey’s attacks on some villages in the northern quadrant of Syria. In particular in Rojava. Meanwhile, the US has started talks with both Ankara and the Kurdish leadership to de-escalate the situation and resume the offensive against IS as soon as possible.
Iraq sends more reinforcements to the border with Syria and launches attacks on the Islamic State. The SAA is immobile. But not for long. Daesh will try to unite the pocket of Deir Ezzor with the one in the Badia desert, attacking Abu Kamal
Meanwhile, Iraq continues to send reinforcements to the border with Syria, in the Qaim area. Baghdad wants to prevent Isis from attempting to cross the country and resume the areas from which he has already been driven out. In addition, the ISF and Shiite paramilitary militias Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF) are attacking the Islamic State within the Syrian territory with artillery. Their goal is to make Daesh fall back to Baghuz to the north, in the direction of Susah, and thus create a sort of buffer zone between the two nations. The Syrian army (SAA), however, has remained immobile until now. Very soon, however, he risks facing a mass offensive by the militia, who will probably try to cross the Euphrates to conquer Abu Kamal and reunite the pocket east of Deir Ezzor with the one in the Badia desert.
