Syria, Isis at Deir Ezzor east of the Euphrates is left only between Hajin and Harse

The SDF at Deir Ezzor secured all of the Middle Euphrates valley (MERV) right up to Iraq and confined Isis exclusively between Hajin and Harse

The SDF at Deir Ezzor secured the entire area of the Middle Euphrates Valley (MERV) up to the border with Iraq, clearing it from Isis. This was possible thanks to the support of the ISF of Baghdad and to the neutralization of hundreds of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and mines, scattered by the Islamic State in the quadrant. As a consequence, in the area east of the Euphrates, there is only one Daesh pocket of resistance left. Namely the one between Hajin and Harse. However, at the same time in the Syrian province, the forces of the Operation Round Up (Jazeera Storm), together with the HAT, YAT and International Coalition, arrested dozens of militiamen. These were jihadist cells, trying to disguise amidst the population and ready to launch attacks both against the Arab-Kurdish forces and the civilians. The last three of them were stopped just a few hours ago east of Deir Ezzor.

The Syrian army (SAA) is preparing an attack against the Islamic State at Suweida. The negotiations between Damascus and Daesh have stalled and unless they are unlocked, an operation on the ground will start

Meanwhile, the Syrian army (SAA) is preparing to attack Isis in its pocket of resistance at Suweida. Hundreds of ex rebels reached the area to join the soldiers who will, in the next days, launch a ground offensive in the province, against the Islamic State. We are talking of 200 elements of the para-military troops, added to the thousands of soldiers from Damascus. In view of the ground operation numerous air raids are being carried out on the area, while they are trying to find an agreement. However, at present the negotiations are in a phase of stall, while Daesh jihadists executed a prisoner and threatened to do the same to several other persons who had been kidnapped in the past days. In the meantime also heavy vehicles, such as tanks, are converging towards the area. If the negotiations should fail, ground maneuvers on would indeed immediately take off.
