New info on the fate of ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, are circulating on social media. Iraqi outlet report, quoting MoI Intelligence, that the former Caliph is still alive. He’s been located in Jazira, Syria area near Iraqi border. He should be in poor health and mental state. He can’t walk on his own, due to injures and he still has diabetes. The Baghdad Post quoted the head of intelligence apparatus of the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), Abu Ali al-Basri, who announced that Daesh chief is in Al-Hasakah Governorate. In statements to the state-owned al-Sabah newspaper, al Basri denied news reports saying that al Baghdadi has escaped the area. He added that al-Baghdadi was admitted to a hospital affiliated to the Islamic State, pointing out that such information came from CTS special sources inside the terrorist group.
The intels on al-Baghdadi could give an expolanation on the strong resistance offered by Islamic State in Deir Essor’s Bahrah and Hajin against SDF
The new info of al-Baghdadi, if confirmed, could explain whi ISIS is offering an heavy resistance in Deir Ezzor against SDF of Cizire Storm (Al Jazeera). Especially in the south east of the governatorate, near Bahrah and Hajin. When the two areas and the extreme south will be cleared from Daesh, Kurds forces will approach last Islamic State strongholds in the est region, on the border with Iraq. So IS could try to gain the necessary time to cure or stabilize the former Caliph, so that it can be transferred to another place. Perhaps along or over the border with Iraq or Turkey.
