Operation Oscar will hunt down Russia’s attempts to evade sanctions. The activity, coordinated by EUROPOL, aims to facilitate the exchange of information and intelligence between partners and provide operational support to EU financial investigations

It’s called Operation Oscar and it’s an offensive, just launched by EUROPOL, to target Russia’s attempts to evade international sanctions after the invasion of Ukraine. Both by individuals and by corporate and state entities. Objective: to facilitate the exchange of information and intelligence between partners and to provide operational support in a series of financial investigations concerning criminal activities and the avoidance of EU economic sanctions related to the military aggression in Moscow. Europol will centralize and analyze all information provided under this operation to identify international links, criminal and suspicious groups, as well as new criminal trends and patterns. In addition, it will provide tailored analytical support to investigations, operational coordination, forensic and technical expertise and financial support to national competent authorities.
