Twitter to users: Firefox caches personal data for 7 days. Cyber security experts: The problem is related to downloading the data archive or sending or receiving multimedia files via Direct Message (DM)
If you use Twitter and Firefox Mozilla, be careful: the browser unwittingly caches certain private user information about sessions for 7 days. The social media platform announced it in a security notice. According to cyber security experts, the problem mainly concerns accesses made by shared and / or public computers. And in particular if, using the browser, a series of actions have been carried out:
- download of the Twitter data archive;
- sending or receiving multimedia files via Direct Message (DM)
The social network has adopted solutions so that Firefox does not cache this information in the future. Furthermore, it has made available an online form through which it is possible to request any doubts or insights relating to the problem. This does not seem to involve other browsers at the moment, but in-depth tests are still underway.
