Syria, the final assault of the SDF at the Isis tent city in Deir Ezzor starts

The SDF launched the final assault on the Isis tent city in Deir Ezzor. The militiamen of the Islamic State in the area have no escape route

The Isis tent city in Baghuz Fawqani is under attack by the SDF. The troops of Jazeera Storm, after an intense aerial bombardment, launched an offensive against the last enclave of the Islamic State in Deir Ezzor. At the moment there are violent clashes between the Syrian fighters and the Daesh militia. These, however, no longer have any escape route as the network of underground tunnels between Wadi Ali and Harse has been destroyed and the Arab-Kurdish forces advance on three axes. Moreover, beyond the Euphrates, the Syrian Army (SAA) is ready to eliminate anyone who tries to cross the river. Especially in the area of Abu Kamal, which as the crow flies is in front of the settlement of the jihadists and in which in recent days several reinforcements have arrived in anticipation of the final assault.

The maneuvers of Jazeera Storm began after the absence of civilians in the area of the Daesh camp for two days and will end shortly. Then, cleaned up the camp, Deir Ezzor can finally be declared IS free

Meanwhile, the SDF artillery continues to hit the Isis camp at Deir Ezzor. Following this, several tents of the Islamic State have caught fire. In the tent city at Baghuz Fawqani, however, many militia remained. They are the most irreducible Daesh elements, those who know they have to fight to the death. Instead, it does not seem that more civilians are trapped or held prisoner. Jazeera Storm, in fact, since Saturday no longer detected the presence of them in the area, nor of fugitives. As a result, for security, SDF waited another day and then launched the final offensive. The battle, however, according to different sources will not last long. It is assumed two or three days at the most. At the end the Arab-Kurdish forces will carry out the clean up of the area and, subsequently, the definitive liberation of the Syrian province from IS will be made official.
