Who is the Islamic State jihadist killed a few hours ago in Eastern Syria by a drone attack? The man, who was traveling alone on a motorcycle, was fatally shot in Hammam Al-Turkman (Tel Abyad) north of Raqqa. There is absolute mystery about his identity at the moment: according to local sources, it is only known that he was a pro-ISIS militiaman and that he was allegedly neutralized by an American UAV in an area under Turkish control. In recent days, however, the US has eliminated three top IS leaders, including the deputy “emir” for the Middle Eastern country, Abu-Hashum Al-Umawi. Consequently, it is presumed that the dead man in Hammam Al-Turkman is also a high-profile figure within the group and that the information recovered from the strikes and the airborne attack last week contributed to his identification.
