Syria, The SDF Will Chase Daesh Out Of Deir Ezzor With The Collaboration Of The Iraqi Forces

The SDF will carry out the final phase of the Jazeera Storm (Cizire Storm) campaign against Daesh at Deir Ezzor in collaboration with the Iraqi security forces

The SDF will carry out the final phase of the Jazeera Storm (Cizire Storm) campaign against Daesh at Deir Ezzor in collaboration with the Iraqi security forces. This was announced by the commander of the Arab-Kurdish forces in Syria and of the entire operation, Hashem Mohammed, while talking to the agency ANHA. The senior officer confirmed that the offensive against the Islamic State was frozen as the fighters were moved to Afrin to contrast the invasion of Turkish and Olive Branch forces. From that moment, however, Isis reorganized and strengthened in the region, launching several attacks against the enemy forces in the area. Once the core of the battle was over at Afrin, the SDF returned to Deir Ezzor to finish the work and destroy the remaining jihadists, before they could further extend their influence to other quadrants of the middle eastern country.

Hashem Mohamed: the Islamic State has strongholds placed along the border between Iraq and Syria from which they launch attacks against the two countries. The Baghdad troops will participate in the campaign, attacking Isis in the border areas

The SDF at Deir Ezzor are continuing to operate against Daesh along the eastern bank of the Euphrates. They have resumed Jazeera Storm, moving along two axes: one in the south, near the Iraqi border, and the other one in the east. Hashem Mohammed recalled that for the maneuvers they are backed up by the International Coalition, which provides air support to the Syrian forces. Regarding the participation of the Baghdad troops, the commander explained that “there are Islamic State strongholds along the borders between the two countries. These are used by the Isis militiamen to launch attacks both in Syria and Iraq. Therefore, we have reached an agreement with the Baghdad forces, whereas they will participate in the campaign by operating in the border areas.” The Kurdish leader, however, did not want to disclose more details on the subject. Especially on how the two groups will coordinate two destroy the jihadists.
