Syria, the SDF in Deir Ezzor target smugglers on the Euphrates

The SDF in Deir Ezzor target smugglers on the Euphrates. They provide support to the Islamic State jihadists by selling fuel in the West and infiltrating men and equipment in the East
The SDF in Deir Ezzor launch a campaign against the Islamic State on the Euphrates. In particular, the Arab-Kurdish forces aim to destroy the logistical and support networks for the ex-Isis jihadists, which pass through the western area of the Syrian province and connect with the eastern one via the river. In the past few hours there have been several raids in Shahil, where ferries used for the smuggling of goods and men have been attacked. The maneuvers are the continuation of two other operations: the first took place on May 7 in the same city and the second on the 11th of the month, in the quadrant of Hawijat al-Busayrah. In both cases the objectives were the ferries. They transport fuel from Kurdistan to areas controlled by the regime, to be sold to finance terrorists. Then, they come back after loading militiamen, weapons, explosives and equipment, necessary to ensure the survival and operation of the IS cells.
