The SDF in Deir Ezzor have expelled Isis from much of the Safafinah district, conquering Muzan. Furthermore, Jazeera Storm breaks the first lines of defense of the Islamic State in Marashidah
The SDF in Deir Ezzor have removed much of the Safafinah district from Isis. Operation Round Up (Jazeera Storm) troops have conquered Muzan and are now on the outskirts of the town. The advance of Syrian fighters against the Islamic State is covered by international coalition fighters and artillery, which continuously bombard the jihadist positions. Also, they broke the first lines of defense Daesh in Marashidah. In fact, in the Middle Euphrates River Valley (MERV), only Shajlah remains under total control of the jihadists. As soon as possible, however, the southern axis of the Arab-Kurdish forces will begin the offensive in the area as well. For now, this is limited to blocking any attempt to flee the militia towards Baghuz. The end of terrorists in the Valley, therefore, should take place shortly.
The attempts to flee Daesh militia in the Middle Euphrates River Valley (MERV) are multiplied, but the population is no longer afraid and the infiltrators report to the SDF
Meanwhile, the SDF multiply the arrests of jihadists Daesh to Deir Ezzor. These are mixed to the population, hoping to go unnoticed, to escape from the battlefields. Both in Safafinah and in Baghuz Fawqanni. In the last hours there were about 2,500 local inhabitants who left the district following the clashes. Among them were several militiamen of the Islamic State, but they were quickly unmasked by the troops of Jazeera Storm. To make a decisive contribution in this sense, however, it was the civilians themselves. These have provided the Arab-Kurdish forces with valuable information on the Daesh terrorists, also signaling their location. What is happening is the confirmation that IS in the MERV is over. Now there is no longer fear of fundamentalists, but the will of vengeance prevails.
