Syria, the SDF defeated the rebel clans in Deir Ezzor

The SDF defeated the rebel clans in Deir Ezzor. Kurdish forces retake the last city held by the rioters: Dhiban. At the same time, negotiations are underway to prevent new attempts of interference by pro-Iran militias

The SDF operation to retake eastern Syria from the rebel clans has ended. The Kurdish forces announced this after having reconquered Dhiban, the last town in Deir Ezzor still in the hands of the rioters. The final assault began on September 5 and ended in two days. In parallel with the final stages of the offensive, the SDF has started negotiations with the tribes of the region to put an end to the violence and prevent it from happening again in the future. In particular, work is being done to preventively neutralize each of the Iranian agents to fuel insecurity in the quadrant. The crisis, in fact, began because some militias allied with Tehran had incited the local clans, inviting them to “liberate” the surrounding areas from the Kurds. This is because the region has always traditionally been less permeable to the propaganda of the Islamic Republic, which is trying to extend its influence in the Middle Eastern country.
