Syria, the SDF arrest an Islamic State commander in Al-Hol

The SDF arrest an Islamic State commander in Al-Hol. The man headed a network that planned attacks and kidnappings to finance former ISIS jihadists in Hasaka and support IS prisoners in the Syrian camp

The SDF, in cooperation with Inherent Resolve, arrested a leader of the Islamic State in the village of Al-Nafayl in Hasaka. The man was the head of a network that was involved in planning attacks and kidnappings to finance former ISIS jihadists in the Al-Hol area. The commander was tracked down following an intelligence activity that saw some IS groups monitored in the Syrian quadrant. During the raid by the Kurdish special forces (HAT) that led to his capture, various documents, technical equipment and mobile phones were found and sent to experts for analysis. There is no official confirmation, but it is likely that the terrorist and his cell also had links with the fundamentalists operating at the Al-Hol camp to provide support to the prisoners and support their escape attempts.
