The SDF arrested the Isis commander of the IED-VBIED factories in Deir Ezzor: Abdulrahman Hamid Khayer
The SDF arrested the Isis commander of the IED-VBIED factories in Deir Ezzor. The man, named Abdulrahman Hamid Khayer, was captured in Hawaji and was still active. So much so that he was found in possession of material to make bombs. The raid, carried out by Kurdish forces and supported by Inherent Resolve, is part of the ongoing campaign to neutralize the IS leadership in Eastern Syria. This goes hand in hand with the hunt for the operational cells of the jihadists and their logistical and support networks. On the latter front, six terrorists have been arrested in the past few hours. Three in Busayrah and as many in Shaddadi (Hasaka).
The IS commander is a “mine of information”. He is potentially able to deal a very hard blow to the networks and operational capacity of terrorists in Eastern Syria
Khayer’s capture is extremely valuable to the SDF. As the head of Isis’s IED and VBIED sector, the man knows the location of all the factories and warehouses in Eastern Syria. In addition, he was in contact with the leaders of the IS logistics network, who were in charge of providing his men with the components for the construction of the bombs. Consequently, should he decide to confess, he would be able to help deal a very hard blow to the networks and operational capacity of the terrorists from Deir Ezzor to Hasaka, via Raqqa. In this case, the results will already be seen in the next few days. It will be enough to wait for the next operations of the Kurdish forces and of Inherent Resolve.
