Syria, the Islamic State is winning on the SAA west of Deir Ezzor

The Islamic State is winning on the SAA west of Deir Ezzor. Yet another ambush by pro-ISIS jihadists causes 17 deaths among the Damascus troops. Since March 2019, 1,607 soldiers have died in the face of 1.096 terrorists

Islamic State militiamen launched a violent attack on the Syrian army (SAA) and allied militias in the desert west of Deir Ezzor. The toll was seven dead and 18 wounded in the ranks of the SAA and the guerrillas. It is not clear, however, whether there have been losses among the pro-ISIS jihadists. Yet another ambush at the Damascus military posts confirms that terrorists continue to control the quadrant, despite constant Russian air raids and combings of the troops. In fact, since March 2019, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least 1,607 soldiers and local paramilitary forces, three Russians and 158 members of the pro-Iran militias allied to the SAA have died. In the same period, about 1,096 IS terrorists lost their lives in the maneuvers and strikes.
