The Eighth Brigade of the Syrian Army (SAA) flies to Ukraine to support Russia. The unit was based in Palmyra in the south of the country. His departure will penalize the war against pro-ISIS militiamen. The increase in air strikes, in fact, will not close the resource gap
The Eighth Brigade of the Syrian Army (SAA) was partly transferred to Ukraine to fight alongside the Moscow troops. This was denounced by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The unit, which was based in Palmyra in the south of the Middle Eastern country, is among the closest to Russia. It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the year it had opened a recruiting office, offering advantageous economic conditions and benefits for those who enlisted, in order to extend Moscow’s influence in the area and reduce the Iranian one. It is not clear how many men left for the European nation, but it is certain that the transfer will cause strong repercussions in the war against the Islamic State in the quadrant. To remedy the criticality, the Federation has again increased strikes against pro-ISIS militiamen. The air raids, however, proved to be of little effect. As a result, IS attacks are expected to escalate across the region.
