SDF and Inherent Resolve capture two pro-ISIS leaders in Deir Ezzor. Heli-transported operation in Shahil against the networks of facilitators and logisticians of the Islamic State. More than 270 jihadists have already been arrested in January
The SDF and Inherent Resolve have captured two senior commanders of the Islamic State in Eastern Syria. They are the pro-ISIS facilitators and logisticians Abdallah Hamid Muslih al-Maddad (alias Abu Hamza al-Suri) and Husam Hamid al-Muslih al-Maddad (al-Khayr), arrested during an airlifted operation in Shahil ( Deir Ezzor). The building where the two men and an assistant were located was surrounded by the joint forces and the group was called to surrender over loudspeakers. When they refused, there was a raid by the special forces, which ended with the capture of the men and the wounding of a civilian, who was immediately rescued and treated. The operation is part of the maneuvers underway throughout the region to dismantle the IS logistics and support network in the quadrant, with the aim of undermining the operational capacity of the jihadists. In fact, since the first days of January, more than 270 militiamen have already been arrested.
