Russia has launched a maxi air campaign against the Islamic State in eastern Syria. Since the beginning of the year, there have been over 100 strikes on ex-ISIS jihadists posts in the Al-Rasafah desert and on the border between the provinces of Raqqa, Deir Ezzor and Homs. The area is believed to be a strategic transit hub for groups operating in the quadrant and continuing to ambush the Damascus army (SAA) and allied militias. It is not clear at the moment which are the assessment or the expected timing of the Moscow air offensive, but it seems that this will continue in the next days. All previous attempts, however, have failed. Despite the raids and roundups, in fact, the terrorists have never stopped attacking. On the contrary. At the end of each maneuver, they immediately hit the enemy again to make him understand that they had not suffered significant damage.
