Russia carried out 350 strikes against the Islamic State in eastern Syria in November. The raids are used to cover the combing activities of the SAA against the former ISIS jihadists in the Badia desert from Deir Ezzor to Raqqa, passing through Homs
Russia launched a violent and persistent air campaign against the Islamic State in eastern Syria in November. Since the beginning of the month, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), there have been at least 350 raids against positions of former ISIS jihadists in the Badia desert. The last 40 were carried out only yesterday and involved the areas of Palmyra (Homs), al-Shawla, al-Rasafa (Raqqas), the al-Beshri mountains and the quadrant east of Deir Ezzor. Objective: to keep the pressure on IS militiamen high, so that they cannot react by counterattacking the units of the Damascus army (SAA) on the ground thanks to the mobile command centers. At the moment, in fact, a maxi operation to comb the territory by the SAA is underway throughout the region and Moscow fears that the military may be ambushed, as has always been the case up to now.
