Syria, Russia attacks HTS positions in Idlib with fighters

Russia attacks HTS positions in Idlib with fighters. It is the response, together with the SAA, to the the pro-Turkey group raids against Moscow’s allied militias in Maasaran. There is an escalation in the Syrian region

Russia launched an air offensive against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Idlib. Federation fighters have carried out several strikes on military posts of the Qaedist group, allied to Turkey, on the eastern front of Jabal al-Zawiya. The raids specifically targeted al-Rouwaiha, Sarjeh and Mantef. The Syrian army (SAA) also participated in the offensive, launching missiles on the area and on the TAF posts in Maarzaf. The attacks were a response to HTS’s aggression with artillery on pro-Russian militias, which occurred shortly before in Maasaran and Kafr Nebl. The jihadists had targeted the group’s headquarters and some command centers, without however causing casualties. The massive intervention by Moscow confirms that the region is escalating and that the conflict is likely to intensify shortly.
