Pro-Iran militias in eastern Syria have launched a campaign to recruit the local population. This was denounced by various local sources, according to which the members of the Revolutionary Guards in Mayadeen (Deir Ezzor) propose favorable conditions for those who want to enlist in both civil (administrative) and military (combatant) roles. The offer is to work 15 days a month for a salary of 40 dollars (120,000 Syrian pounds). In addition, the various benefits include a basket of food and free access to medical care at medical centers and hospitals linked to the Teheran’s militias. As a further publicity move, all members of the group in the province just received another one-time $ 40 gift on the occasion of Ramadan and in anticipation of Eid.
