Syria, open war between the SAA-Isis in the Badia desert

New maxi operation of the Syrian army (SAA) with the support of Russia against Isis in the Badia desert. It is the answer to the latest massacre of soldiers at the hands of the jihadists

New maxi anti-Isis operation of the Syrian Army (SAA) with air support from Russia in the Badia desert. In the past few hours there have been several clashes between the Damascus troops and the IS jihadists on the road between Raqqa and Aleppo and in various locations in Hama, Homs and Deir Ezzor. Federation fighters have carried out over 170 raids in the past 72 hours. It is the response to the latest militia attacks against the SAA in the quadrant, which had inflicted a heavy death toll on the SAA. Among these there could also be about fifteen soldiers, whose fate is uncertain after two ambushes suffered in Al-Rahjan and Al-Shakouziyyah. The military was traveling on a bus when communications were lost. The vehicle was then found burned, but there is no trace of the men.

Iran is trying to win the favor of the population in Deir Ezzor with humanitarian aid

Meanwhile, Iran is trying to win the trust and favor of the population in Abu Kamal (Deir Ezzor) with humanitarian aid. Pro-Tehran militiamen distributed food rations, detergents and winter clothes to local inhabitants on the first anniversary of Qassem Soleimani’s death. The goal was twofold: on the one hand, to have a larger audience at the commemoration, as many groups deserted the ceremony, unleashing the ire of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) who in revenge then made several arrests in the ranks of the allies. On the other hand, try to reduce the possible support for Isis or local anti-government formations, contrary to the presence of the SAA and “foreigners” in the region.
