The SDF and Inherent Resolve have launched a new offensive against the Islamic State in Eastern Syria. In a few days, at least two cells of pro-ISIS jihadists were eliminated in Raqqa and Hasaka, responsible for attacks and targeted killings in the quadrant. Furthermore, numerous pieces of equipment and documents were found in the raided hideouts, judged to be of great interest. The operations, still ongoing, began after the arrests of some prominent IS leaders in the region last month. The goal of the Kurdish forces is twofold: to eliminate the fundamentalist chain of command and their logistics networks to drastically reduce their operational capacity and freedom of movement.
