New offensive by the Islamic State against the Syrian army (SAA) and allied militias west of Deir Ezzor. In the past few hours, pro-ISIS jihadists have attacked some military posts of Al-Qatarji and NDF near the oil fields of Al-Kharatah. The guerrillas managed to keep the defensive lines waiting for SAA troops and close air support (CAS) to arrive. Russia has raised its fighters, which have carried out ten strikes, putting the attackers on the run. These, however, do not appear to have suffered losses unlike the militias who suffered twelve wounded. In the last month, IS attacks in the area have intensified, despite the continuous air raids and operations in Damascus, increasing the pressure on enemies throughout the quadrant.
