Syria, Isis started 2018 in the worst way: more than 400 elements killed

Isis in Syria has begun 2018 in the worst way . Especially in Deir ez-Zor

2018 has begun in the worst way for ISIS in Syria. Especially in Deir ez-Zor. Daesh in both sides of Euphrates River has lost in less than a month more than 400 elements. It during battles against SDF of operazione Cizire Storm (Al Jazeera) and syrian army (SAA). Islamic State recently tryed to regain some ground in Gharanij and Abu Kamal (Al Bukamal), but Inherent Resolves’s air raids killed in just one time between 145 and 150 jihadistis. It obliged Isil to switch in areas less hot, like Aleppo and Idlib, in which enemy presence is diluted, thanks to the presence of another adversary: Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). Moreover the terrorist tryied to attack SAA near Abu Kamal in last days, but failed as happended against SDF.

SDF of Cizire Storm are pressing Daesh on east shore of Euphrates River. Syrian army is fighting Islamic State and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Hama, Aleppo and Idlib

Isis arrived in January after a disastrous 2017 in Iraq and Syria, in which Daesh in both countries had been almost defeated militarily. But the difference is that last year SAA caused most of the death of Islamic State elementns in Deir ez-Zor. In 2018, instead, the “gold medal” at now has been won by SDF of Cizire Storm. It in part because the largest and most active Isil bastion in east Syria – about 3,000 militants strong (some sources say 4,000) – is situated on the east shore of the Euphrates River, where kurds led forces exclusively operate. In other part because syrian army concentrated it’s attention in north of the country, in the junction between Idlib, Aleppo and Hama. Both against IS both HTS. So much so that soldiers have just conquered a hill south of Rasm al-Dahl, near Kunayfis.
