Syria, Isis Exploits Pro-Iranian Militias Departure From Deir Ezzor

Isis immediately tries to take advantage of the departure of the pro-Iranian militias from Deir Ezzor. The Islamic State attacks the attacks SAA and Liwa al-Quds, just arrived in the province, causing deaths and injuries. There is a risk that Daesh will rise again

ISIS immediately exploited the movement of pro-Iranian militias from eastern Syria to attack the army of Damascus (SAA). In the past few hours a group of jihadists from the Islamic State carried out a series of raids against SAA posts in the Deir Ezzor desert, also conquering a village for a few hours. This, in fact, was taken up by the soldiers, but only because the fundamentalists had fled after having plundered him. Moreover, some members of Liwa al-Quds, the “Jerusalem Brigade”, just arrived in Abu Kamal and in the area to replace the para-military forces linked to Tehran, also died in the clashes. The incident is confirmation of the high risk that the Daesh threat will grow in the area and become a real danger once again, not only west of the Euphrates.

Meanwhile Turkey is increasingly in difficulty in Idlib. Protests against joint patrols with Russia on the M4 are worsening and HTS is getting stronger

Meanwhile, the situation for Turkey is worsening in northern Syria. TAF and Russia attempted to conduct a new joint patrol on the M4 in Idlib. But, as in all the previous ones, it was blocked in the Nayrab area and forced to reverse. This is due to new protests from the local population, supported by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militias, which has now become a leader in the province. On this last occasion, however, the convoy suffered egg and stone throws. This is a sign that the demonstrations are escalating and that Ankara’s parallel diplomacy to bring back the crisis is failing. In addition, the country of Recep Tayyip Erdogan has an increasingly powerful enemy within its area of influence and close to the border.
