Syria, clashes between pro-Turkey militias continue in Idlib

Clashes between pro-Turkey militias continue in Idlib. HTS arrests the deputy emir of Ansar al-Islam in Harim. The internal war for Ankara’s resources intensifies in North Syria

Internal clashes between pro-Turkey militias continue in Idlib. Members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested Ansar al-Islam’s deputy emir, Abo Al-Darda a Al-Kurdi, in the Harim area. The reasons were not disclosed, but it is believed that the episode is part of the internal feud between local formations to grab the increasingly scarce resources from Ankara, which HTS exclusively manages and distributes to other factions on the basis of utilitarian criteria. The pro al-Qaeda faction, in fact, today controls the province, after having subjected the others with violence and blackmail. This poorly tolerated situation, especially by smaller groups, has led to an escalation of attacks.
