Iraq-Syria, Inherent Resolve: 38 operations against the Islamic State in May

Inherent Resolve: 38 operations against the Islamic State in May in Iraq and Syria. Objectives: to neutralize the chains of command and the logistical networks of the pro-ISIS jihadists. In all, 31 militiamen were captured and eight killed

There were 38 operations against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, carried out by Inherent Resolve and partner countries in May. As a result of the maneuvers, 31 pro-ISIS militants were captured and eight died. In the first nation there were 21 raids (11 jihadists arrested and six killed), while in the second there were 17 (20 terrorists captured and two dead). In particular, the Coalition, the SDF, the ISF and the Kurdish Peshmerga are targeting chains of command and logistics networks. This is to reduce the operational capacity and freedom of movement of fundamentalists in the two states. Currently, however, new anti-IS operations are underway, involving various regions: from Syrian Kurdistan to Makhmour and Kirkuk, via Anbar.
