Iraq, attacks on the US for the anniversary of Soleimani’s death continue

Iraq, attacks on the US in Iraq for the anniversary of Soleimani’s death continue. Fourth aggression on Camp Victory since January 3, 2021. Inherent Resolve has not reacted so far, but it could soon. The right to self-defense remains despite the end of the combat mission

The pro-Iran militias attacks against the Inherent Resolve bases in Iraq do not stop. In the past few hours, there has been the fourth missile launch since January 3, 2021 against Camp Victory, the facility near the Baghdad airport that houses American troops. It is believed to have started from the al-Jihad neighborhood, where a launcher was found. The terrorists’ goal is to avenge General Qasem Soleimani and Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF) commander, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, killed on January 3, 2020. In addition to missiles, the militiamen also used armed drones to try to strike the base in recent days. Fortunately, however, every attempt was neutralized or failed. US soldiers have not intervened so far, but it is not excluded that they will soon decide to actively react to threats with raids or strikes. The Coalition, in fact, has concluded the combat mission, but still maintains the right to self-defense.
