Kenyan military operation against M23 in North Kivu kicks off. Parallel to Nairobi troops, who are already fighting with DRC soldiers in Kibumba (Goma), Uhuru Kenyatta flies to Kinshasa to broker a truce

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Army has launched an offensive against the M23 group in the Goma area of ​​North Kivu. At the moment the clashes are concentrated in Kibumba. Kenyan troops, who arrived in Goma in recent days, were also involved in the maneuvers. The joint contingent began to flow into the quadrant on November 6, when the authorities temporarily closed the local airport to allow two military aircraft to unload men, vehicles and materials, immediately deployed on the ground. In parallel with military activities, diplomatic efforts are underway to end the conflict with the Tutsi rebels. The former Kenyan president, Uhuru Kenyatta, flew to Kinshasa to meet the political leaders and those of M23, on the strength of the success of his mediation which led to an agreement between the Ethiopian government and the Tigray rebels. Objective: to find the right place to put an end to the hostilities, which have been going on for years now.
