Authorities in Israel fear that the prolonged siren alerts on Sunday could be the work of Iranian hackers. False rocket warning sirens were heard in the Israeli cities Jerusalem and Eilat on June 18th. According to the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), the sirens were triggered by a cyber attack and there is a high probability that behind there are pro-Iran hacker groups. However, many cybersecurity experts believe that the event is accidental or a false flag. Triggering the sirens, in facts, could have no sense or utility for Tehran. A real threat, on the other hand, would materialize if the hackers of the Islamic Republic were able to effectively take control and disable them in the event of an attack against the Jewish State.
