The Hive ransomware group blackmails healthcare institutions in Italy. The cybersecurity researcher MalwareHunterTeam publishes a chat confirming that the commitment not to attack health-related targets is false

The cybercrime actors behind Hive ransomware have no qualms about blackmailing healthcare institutions in Italy as well. It was discovered by cybersecurity researcher MalwareHunterTeam, who posted a screenshot of the chat between cybercriminals and health authorities. The latter ask to decrypt their network and the answer is a request for a payment of $ 3,500,000 in Bitcoin. Furthermore, the victims explain that they are a government health facility and in response they receive: “We know who you are”. This happens despite several ransomware groups having announced multiple times that they would not attack health-related targets.
