The United Kingdom will have its National Cyber Force. It will be located in the North West of the country. It has been confirmed by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as Business Live reports, outlining the Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy to the House of Commons. No official announcement has been made about its exact location, but its believed it could be located in the Manchester area. The objective is to counter terrorism threats to the country, and especially possible attacks. Mr. Johnson, in fact, explained that “the National Cyber Force which conducts offensive cyber operations against terrorists, hostile states and criminal gangs will in future be located in a cyber corridor in the North West of England and we will also establish a cross-government situation centre in the Cabinet Office, learning the lessons of the pandemic and improving our use of data to anticipate and respond to future crises.”
