TeamOneFist assessed a strategic cyber strike against Russia with Op. Neutrino. The group, part of IT Army of Ukraine, compromised an operational Russian AI/ML (Machine Learning) model, in addition to a power grid SCADA/ICS, belonging to the DK Port substation. Timing was chosen to match peak usage hours. In addition to controlling power supply, it was supplying data for Rosenergo’s FLISR fault algorithm. From the controller, they successfully fed bad data into the FLISR model, via the connected sensors. Then, they nuked it. The cyber warfare operation is the response for the Russian attacks on Ukraine and it will continue until Moscow withdraws its troops.
